In 2012 my husband and I had an opportunity to run our own business. Prior to this we had always been employed and therefore did not know too much about what was involved. I am so glad we took that advice. In our initial meeting, Paul reviewed our potential contracts and advised that there could be significant tax savings if we traded as a limited company. He set up the company for us, provided a personalised spreadsheet package suited to our business and trained me how to record income and expenses.
Every quarter I send him my spreadsheet, bank statements and paperwork and he files our vat returns. At this point, Paul also reviews how much dividends we can take from the company, how much tax we will owe on the profits to date and basically guides us through the annual cycle of accounts and tax returns.
